Middle School Speed Text Competition

The Maine Broadband Coalition is running a speed testing competition among middle schools and high schools across the state. Schools are encouraging their communities to take at-home internet speed tests and the six schools with the highest participation will win a cash technology sponsorship.  Anyone can run the test, not just those with students in the school and not even just those in Nobleboro, so please encourage anyone and everyone you know to run the internet speed test using the link below.  In the long run, everyone wins when the Maine Broadband Coalition is able to provide the necessary data to support receiving federal and state grant dollars to expand broadband to reach more communities.  The more people use Nobleboro Central School's specific link below, the more likely we are to win up to a $1500 sponsorship prize for the school!

The FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) offers eligible families a credit of up to $30 per month toward broadband service.  The two most common broadband internet service providers in Nobleboro are Spectrum Internet and Tidewater Telecom, both of which participate and provide discounts to eligible households!

Spectrum Internet recently announced a new high-speed, low-cost broadband service providing up to 100 Mbps download speeds for just $29.99 per month, and includes a modem, in-home WiFi and self-installation at no additional charge. Spectrum Internet 100 is available exclusively to households eligible for the ACP, which allows eligible customers to receive Spectrum Internet 100 at no monthly cost.

Tidewater Telecom also offers an Affordable Connectivity Program discount of up to $30 per month on their internet service plan for eligible families.  Their 50 Mbps fiber internet plan becomes $39.95 instead of $69.95 monthly.

NPTO NEWS--MEETING THIS WEEK!!!

 

Dear Parents,

We will be holding an NPTO meeting on Wednesday 4/6 at 5:30.  If you are at all interested in the possibility of participating in the NPTO, we would love to see you there!  We will have light snacks and refreshments as well as a couple of middle school students available to watch younger students if you need to bring children along.   If you are not able to attend but are still interested in joining, please feel free to contact Julianne Hansbury at  jhansbury@aos93.org to let us know and we will be sure to include you in future meetings or activities.
