Hello!

Most days the weather clearly dictates indoor or outdoor recess. When it's raining cats and dogs, or we find ourselves bracing from an artic freeze, everyone knows it'll be indoor recess. Occasionally, though, the decision takes more thought as we weigh the thrill of fresh air and sunshine with temperature and windchill. Today was one of those days when a decision had to be made. It reminds me how fortunate we are here at NCS. Our school is a community. We strive to serve all children when the decisions are made. The students and families are not numbers, they are human beings. We notice and celebrate individual accomplishments. That is special!

Speaking of winter weather, we are experiencing a shortage of extra snowpants. It's nice to have a few extras on hand. If anyone has an outgrown pair of snowpants and would like to donate them to school, please send them in.

Kieve after school activities continue into February and March. They are free to Nobleboro students. The schedule and sign-up sheet is on this link:  KIEVE AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Wednesday afternoon, January 31, our school will host a Red Cross Blood Drive (for adults). Here are the details:  LINK TO BLOOD DRIVE INFO (It's a recent post on our Community page.)

Letter to Families from our NPTO (THANK YOU!)

Dear NCS Famlies,

Give a big RAH-RAH-RAH for our new NCS “Lions Pride” bags!

This year the NPTO will provide every NCS student and teacher with a nifty gift – your very own NCS bag!  These totes can be used to carry that “stuff” home from school that usually winds up on the ground due to lack of extra hands.  You know these things: snow gear, extra gym shoes, jackets, lunch items, art projects, homework and books…you name it!  To parents, we recommend encouraging your kids to bring these bags back to school daily to lend a helping hand when they need it most.

We invite everyone to use these totes daily to show your Lions Pride!  GO GREEN!

American Red Cross Blood Drive at NCS

THIS MESSAGE ACTUALLY RELATES TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS/ADULTS:  Nobleboro Central School is partnering with The American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive on Wednesday, January 31st from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The need is always great for blood donations and Nobleboro has taken on this  community service project to support the cause and make a difference.  Our 8th grade students are volunteering as part of a health class project, which includes recruiting donors, media awareness, teaching lessons to the younger grades, as well as volunteering on the day of the drive.

Here is a link to find out more or to register, just enter 04555 - the Nobleboro zipcode, to get a direct link to our drive.  You may also call 1-800-733-2767
