What's so great about Friday, February 12th?

Hooray!
We've made it to the 100th day of the school year. For students in grades K-4,
this is a BIG deal.

Today students in grades K-4 will mix it up. Small multi-age groups visit a variety stations and work on projects that incorporate 100 in creative ways. These stations may include math, literacy, art or movement.

Kelci and Chris, Kieve EIR's (that stands for educators in residence) have prepared a new after school activity schedule.  The links below will give you the information you'll need to know about dates and activities. Use these links to sign up for one or more afternoons. This program is free to our students!
Perhaps you've read in this week's LC News about Lincoln Academy's fundraiser for the John Bowers Field project. Our school would like to purchase a brick (or two). If you want to help but do not have the full $100/brick to spend, we will accept a smaller donation to the "NCS Student Activity Account" toward the purchase of a Nobleboro Students brick. Or, if you prefer to make a larger, personal gift, the necessary forms are now available at our office.

A reminder to students in grades 3-6:   Bikes for books--our reading incentive program--is in full swing and will end on March 18.   Keep reading during vacation to be eligible for the drawings!  You could win a bike!

Cardinals in Winter
Our vacation break is about to begin. We hope your family will enjoy some fun winter time together and return to school on February 22 feeling refreshed.

Harlem Superstars--A Night of Family Entertainment!

The Harlem Superstars Comedy Basketball Team is coming to Lincoln Academy Bailey Gym on Tuesday, March 8th at 6:30. This event is organized by Lincoln Academy's Alumni Council and the Class of 2018.

The Superstars will play LA's Community Dream Team.   Tickets are $8 in advance and $9 at the door.  Advanced tickets are available through the NCS office.

February is here!

Did you spot Chance, the reading dog in this picture? He and his good friend, Chris, are welcome visitors in the library.  On Monday Chance totally enjoyed a good read by Bronwen.

This week, the 8th grade visits Lincoln Academy on Wednesday, Feb. 3.   Third grade begins a skating unit in PE on Wednesday.  Skating will continue for a 4-week session.

Reminder:  Thursday, Feb. 4 is a half day for students. Dismissal is at noon.  In the afternoon teachers and staff will be engaged in workshop training.

The Kieve After School Activities are in full swing.  Sign up for specific grade-related activities (free to Nobleboro students).   To reserve your spot, choose the grade specific link(s) under the tab, FORMS & SIGNUPS on the  NCS HOME PAGE

In addition to leading some fun winter after school activities, Kelci and Chris help around the school and on the playground.  Chris and Kelci will return after February vacation to continue their educator in residence tasks.  The schedule/sign up pages for even more after school activities will be posted later in February.

Ahh, yes, February vacation!  If you are looking for a program for your child(ren) during the week of February 15-19, you may want to look into Kieve's WINTER ADVENTURE CAMP.
See the flyer (above) for more information. (Scholarship applications are available, if needed; please contact our school office for information.)

Thank you, parents, for your feedback on the 2016 Parent Survey. The link has been sent to all families and the response has been great. The survey link will be available for just awhile longer. If you haven't had a chance to complete your survey, we hope you'll take time to share your thoughts today!

Have a great week!
