Looking ahead at June 6-10th. . .

Looking back:  It was a short school week--just 4 school days--yet we certainly accomplished a lot!  Here are just a few highlights:
  • The Lady Lions wrapped up their 2016 softball season. They won the first playoff game against Wiscasset on Tuesday.  On Wednesday the girls went up against formidable Oceanside. The Lady Lions started the game solidly and stayed tough. Pitching was strong on both sides, defense was excellent, and hitting was strong all around.  We considered it a good game week, despite a 2 run loss to Oceanside.
  • It was a pleasure to meet new kindergarten students and their families during at Kindergarten Registration.
  • This year's Kindergarten and 1st grade play was a success!   NOW. . .
Looking FORWARD to June 6-June 10:  Grades close soon. Older students may want to take advantage of Homework Club on Monday and Tuesday. Some special days to note this week:

Wednesday, June 8th:
  • Grade 6 leaves for a unit at Hurricane Island.  Meet at school at 7:15 am.  (Students will return to NCS Friday at about 5pm.)
  • Grades 7 & 8 will travel to Lincoln Academy for Field Day.  7th & 8th graders should come to school on Wednesday prepared to be outdoors. Bring a bag lunch or be sure that you've ordered one from the kitchen ahead of time.  Students return by dismissal. (Rain Date: Thursday)
  • Grade 5 will go to the FARMS kitchen.
  • Talent Show Auditions are after school on Wednesday. Interested students sign up outside the music room AND parents complete this permission form:  TALENT AUDITION PERMISSION
